HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU?

Highlands County flood maps are out dated and no longer represent the current flood risks. Using the latest mapping technology and more up-to-date data, new flood maps are being prepared that present a picture of the County's current flood risks. Consequently, your property's level of flood risk may have changed.

For example:

  1. Property not currently within a high-risk flood hazard area may
now be in a high-risk hazard flood area.
  2. Property previously in a high-risk flood hazard area may
no longer be in a high-risk hazard flood area.
  3. Property previously in a high-risk flood hazard area may remain
in a high-risk hazard flood area.

This information is provided to assist you in decisions including the purchase, protection and insuring of property.
