Florida Department of Environmental Protection Solicits Recreation Development Assistance Program Grant Applications

FRDAP is a state-competitive grant program that provides financial assistance to local governmental entities for the development or acquisition of land for public outdoor recreation. Completed applications must be postmarked on or before Aug. 14, 2015, and incomplete applications will not be accepted. Additional information, including the 2016-17 FRDAP application, can be found here. Bartow, FL (July 21, 2015) – The Central Florida Regional Planning Council (CFRPC), along with partner planning councils Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council and Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council received the Major Metro Achievement Award presented by the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) for the Florida Local/Regional Broadband Planning Project designed to educate and empower communities to plan for broadband infrastructure. Broadband Polk, a collaborative effort to develop a comprehensive broadband plan to address the current and future broadband needs for Polk County was developed as a result of this project.

(July 1, 2015) – The Heartland Regional Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) serving DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands and Okeechobee Counties is seeking public comment on a draft Public Participation Plan for a period of 45 days, ending on August 15, 2015. After the comment period closes and all input has been considered, a final Public Participation Plan will be presented for adoption to the HRTPO Board with at least seven (7) days public notice.
