Following the Open House, the Town Commission will consider adoption of the Downtown Vision Plan at their 6:30 meeting.

A second Community Visioning Workshop to be facilitated by the Town of Dundee and the Central Florida Regional Planning Council is scheduled for Thursday, March 24th at 6:00pm at the Dundee Community Center.  The goal of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for the community to come together to review results from the first workshop and discuss ideas on how to address the comments received.  The workshop is open to the public and all interested persons are encouraged to attend.

Update to the Local Mitigation Strategy

Polk County seeks Community Input for Hazard Risk Assessments and Proposed Mitigation Projects

The County requests the public’s attendance at the Community Open House scheduled on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 beginning at 4:30 PM, to review the LMS process and provide input on hazard risk assessments and potential mitigation projects for the 5-year update to the Polk County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS), as described below.

The County is preparing a 5-Year Update to the Polk County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS).  This document addresses hazard mitigation planning for the County, the 17 cities within Polk County, the Polk County School Board, and other interested agencies and stakeholders.  The Update will:

  • Reflect changes in development, progress in local mitigation efforts, and changes in priorities that have occurred since the last adoption;
  • Provide a comprehensive risk analysis that can be used for other emergency planning documents;
  • Provide analysis of critical facilities; and
  • Review and propose amendments (if needed) to the Evaluation and Prioritization Process.
