On July 27, 2001, seven organizations partnered to form the Disaster Contractors Network, a unique organization that will train building professionals in providing specialized services to homeowners after a major disaster. The Network training will focus on preparednness, victim and homeowner behavior, post-impact mitigation techniques, recovery after a storm, and doing business in a disaster environment. In addition, the Disaster Contractors Network will give builders and contractors the tools to create a disaster strategy for their own companies that will limit losses and help them achieve stability after a disaster.
