Polk County Emergency Preparedness Night on Wednesday, June 10

Polk County Emergency Management and the Lakeland Flying Tigers have teamed up to host an Emergency Preparedness Night on Wednesday, June 10. The event will begin when the gates to Joker Marchant Stadium open at 5:30 p.m. and will continue throughout the game as the Flying Tigers battle the Fort Myer Miracle. First pitch will cross home plate at 6:30 p.m.

For the twelfth consecutive year, Minor League Baseball is partnering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Ready Campaign and Citizen Corps Program to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies including natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks. This is the sixth season the Flying Tigers have participated in the campaign.

There will be PSA audio and video messages, trivia questions, games and contests throughout the game to educate fans. There will be information regarding hurricane preparedness as the beginning of June marks the beginning of Hurricane season. If your company is interested in setting up a booth in the walk ways for fans to visit please RVSP to rosalalonde@polkfl.com . You must RSVP to set up a table. We will provide tables and chairs for the event. Set up begins at 4pm you must be ready for gates to open at 530pm. For your planning the average attendance is approximately 500. Any and all appropriate giveaways are great!

Make sure and come hungry. Every Wednesday fans receive a ticket and all-you-can-eat for just $10 in advanced, $11 day of game! (Does not include drinks) Enjoy all the hot dogs, hamburgers, Little Ceasar’s pizza, polish sausages, popcorn, pretzels, and chips you can eat from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. In addition, every Wednesday night will feature food from a participating restaurant, while supplies last.
