Fort Meade Competitive Florida

The City of Fort Meade was one of the six Florida communities awarded a Competitive Florida Partnership Grant by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) in 2019. The Competitive Florida Partnership Program awards grants to communities to fund the creation of a strategic economic plan that promotes community design, economic diversity, economic viability and disaster resiliency. The program also offers a committed partnership with DEO to provide technical assistance to help Florida communities find creative solutions to foster vibrant, healthy and resilient communities.

  • Facilitate Community Engagement.
  • Inventory Community Assets.
  • Prepare Economic Development & Disaster Preparedness Strategy.

Events

Community conversations are crucial in the development of an Economic Development & Disaster Preparedness Strategy. Aside from community engagement opportunities, a number of community meetings will be held to identify city assets and set priorities. Community meeting dates are as follows:

  • October 29, 2019 – Community Workshop
  • February 20, 2020 – Community Partners Meeting
  • Spring 2020 – Public Community Workshop to Review Draft Plan
  • June 15, 2020 – Virtual Community Workshop (details below)
