About the event

Community members are invited to participate in a series of virtual public workshops on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, to review and discuss the results of the Extreme Rainfall Studies conducted for DeSoto, Hardee, Polk, and Highlands counties.

These studies were completed as part of each county’s Vulnerability Assessment funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and evaluate the potential impacts of future extreme rainfall events and associated flooding throughout each county.

During each workshop, participants will:

• Learn about projected extreme rainfall impacts and flooding risks

• Review key findings from the county study

• Ask questions and provide feedback to help inform future resilience and planning efforts
