On April 18, Central Florida Regional Planning Council Executive Director Pat Steed participated in an webinar hosted by 1000 Friends of Florida to discuss the planning implications of SB 7068 for the Heartland Region. The proposed legislation would create the “multi-use corridors of regional economic significance program” within the Florida Department of Transportation, and would be intended to facilitate expressways through rural counties. State transportation policy, regional planning, and land and habitat conservation were also discussed.
